On-campus (Caulfield)
This
course will enable students with a strong discipline background in visual arts
to combine their knowledge and skills with the development of a strong
discipline base in business principles.
Students
must complete a major specialisation in a discipline taught on the Caulfield
campus by the Faculty of Business and Economics.
- Students must also complete the prescribed units from the Faculty of Art
and Design.
The
degree requirements are:
(a) Students must complete 18 units (108 credit points) from the Faculty of
Business and Economics as follows:
(i) Completion of six compulsory common core units (36 credit points):
- AFF1110 Accounting for financial decision making
- BTF1010 Commercial law
- ECF1100/ECF2100 Microeconomics
- ETX1100 Business statistics
- MGF1010 Managing people and organisations
- MKF1120 Marketing theory and practice
(ii) Completion of at least
four outer core units (24 credit points) outside of the compulsory common core
units and the major specialisation.
(iii) Completion of a major specialisation of eight units (48 credit points)
from one of the disciplines listed below:
- AFF1300 Money and capital markets
- AFF2401 Commercial banking and finance
- AFF3121 Investments and portfolio management
- AFF3651 Treasury management
- AFF3331 International banking and finance or AFX3871 International study
program in banking and finance
- AFF3841 Lending decisions
- AFF2051 Financial modelling
- AFF2631 Financial management
- MGF1100/MGF2100 Managerial communication
- MGF2341 Managing employee relations
- MGF3621 Organisational change
- MGF3441 Human resource strategy

(b) Students must also complete 16 units (96 credit points) from the Faculty of
Arts and Design as follows:
(i) Completion of a six compulsory units (36 credit points):

of theory (12 credit points) at either second or third year level (units with
the prefix TAD).
(v) Completion of two units (12 credit points) of complementary study chosen
from either theory or studio disciplines.
(c) Students must also satisfy the following degree regulations:
(i) A total of 34 units (204 credit points).
(ii) Overall, a maximum of 14 units (84 credit points) at first-year-level.
(iii) Overall, a minimum of eight units (48 credit points) at third-year level.
