The Bachelor of Business and Commerce provides an international degree in business and commerce. The course is designed to provide maximum flexibility and to allow depth and breadth in the study of the major business and commerce discipline areas. Its structure provides the capacity to tailor applications and focus in different contexts and different environments while ensuring knowledge of the theory, principles and core elements in the relevant discipline areas.
GCE A level: 16 points (two or three units); Hong Kong
A level: 14 points (two or three units); OAC: 70 per cent; STPM: 16 points
(two or three units); Sri Lankan A level: 20 points (two or three units);
Australian Year 12: 70 ENTER; MUFY: 240; IB: 26.
Mathematics: GCE O level; Year 11 or equivalent.
English: TOEFL 580 and TWE 5 or computer-based TOEFL score of 237 with an Essay
Rating (ER) of 5; IELTS 6.0 with a score of at least 6 for each individual
band; or GCE A level with a grade of C or above; English is the first
language; English was the language of instruction in secondary and/or tertiary
studies.

The degree program comprises 24 six-point units (144 points) that
are normally completed by full-time students at a rate of four units each
semester, with two semesters per year, over a period of three years. The degree
requirements are:
(a) A core of six compulsory first-year units comprising one unit from each of
the faculty's six discipline groupings (accounting, business law, business
statistics, economics, management and marketing). The six individual core units
are:

10 units (60 points) may be taken at first-year level.
(c) At least six units (36 points) at third-year level, of which at least
four (24 points) must be taken from units offered by the faculty on the home
campus.
(d) Up to six units (36 points) in disciplines taught by other
faculties.
(e) At least one major must be chosen consisting of at least eight units
(48 points) from the faculty disciplines/areas of study, including at least two
units (12 points) at each of second and third-year levels.
(f) At least four non-compulsory units must be outside the main field of
study.
The Private Higher Educational Institutions Act 1996 of Malaysia requires
students to take three units: Malaysian studies, National language (there is
one unit for Malaysian citizens and another for citizens of other countries),
and either Islamic studies (Muslim students) or Moral studies (other students).

Students who might, at some future stage in their studies, apply to transfer to another Monash University campus are strongly advised to discuss their intentions with a student adviser when commencing the Bachelor of Business and Commerce and whenever selecting units.
The Bachelor of Business and Commerce degree has been introduced at other Monash campuses. Students may apply to transfer to one of these campuses at any time. Applications for campus transfer are subject to the approval of the faculty.
This degree enables students to transfer into other courses offered by the faculty in Australia, subject to successful completion of appropriate units. The required academic achievement level needed to gain a transfer as well as the extent of credit for units completed will depend upon the program and major studies undertaken in line with the following transfer options:

To proceed in any specialised discipline area normally a credit in the unit(s) in that area is required. The program of study enables transfer with full credit up to first-year for the Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics and after three semesters of study for the Bachelor of Business (tagged) programs. Beyond this time period the level of credit given on articulation will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
