Offered: Synopsis: Overview of auditing and assurance, the auditor's professional responsibilities and legal liability, audit process and evidence under a strategic risk approach, study and evaluation of internal control, CIS auditing, an overview of audit sampling, testing transactions and account balances, audit and assurance reports, internal and operational auditing and current issues. Assessment: Distance Education students: Assignments (2000 words): 30% + Examination (3 hours): 70%, Other students: Assignments (2000 words): 25% + Participation: 5% + Examination (3 hours): 70% Contact Hours: 3 hours per week Prerequisites: AFW2491 or equivalent |
