It blends a conceptual theoretical framework with practical applications and covers basic discipline material through to more specialised strand requirements in the selected discipline. Graduates will be well equipped to seek employment in both private and public-sector enterprises. Course structureAreas of studyStudents must complete a major specialisation in one of the following disciplines taught by the faculty: accounting, banking and finance, economics, econometrics, human resource management, law, management, marketing and risk management. Other studies may be drawn from any of the disciplines taught on the Caulfield campus by the Faculty of Business and Economics. These other studies can, in some cases, form a second major in a business discipline. Course requirementsThe degree requirements are: (a) completion of six compulsory core units (36 points):
(b) a major specialisation of eight units (48 points) in a discipline or field of study of the faculty, with at least two units (12 points) at each of second and third-year levels. The major must come from the approved list of majors. (c) a total of 24 units (144 points) over a maximum of 10 years of study. (d) a maximum of 10 first-year-level units (60 points). (e) a minimum of six third-year-level units (36 points), of which at least four (24 points) must be from those offered by the faculty on the campus delivering this program. (f) at least four non-compulsory units (24 points) must be taken from units offered by the faculty but outside the main field of study. (g) an option to include a maximum of six units (36 points) from disciplines taught by other faculties or from approved units at a campus other than Caulfield.
