This double-degree course is designed to provide students with both the technical and organisational competencies to build and implement distributed application systems within a business environment. This requires that students understand the applications of network computing in business and the organisational issues involved in establishing and managing the various types of business.
Units 1 and 2 - any two units from General Mathematics and/or Mathematical Methods. Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 25 in English (any).
Satisfactory completion of qualifications deemed to be equivalent to the VCE such as interstate Year 12 or International Baccalaureate, or the completion of a TAFE Certificate IV with a grade average of at least 60 per cent or one year of an advanced diploma (formerly associate diploma) with a grade average of at least 60 per cent.
A minimum score of 240.
Those who have not satisfied the above admission requirements may do so by successfully completing two units with a credit average at university level. These may be studied either on campus or by off campus learning, or through Open Learning Australia. A pass in mathematics at Year 11 or above is essential for entry.
Credit transfer may be considered for previous tertiary-level study or post- secondary study (including TAFE) in Australia and overseas. Each application is assessed on a case-by-case basis. It is essential that units submitted for credit transfer fit the philosophy and principles of this degree course of study. Units studied more than 10 years ago are regarded as beyond a reasonable time limit and will not be considered for credit/ exemption.
Day classes are offered at Peninsula campus. Some elective units may be offered from other campuses through tele-teaching, and some units may be offered through off-campus learning via the world wide web.
Full-time students would normally complete the course in 4.25 years.
The double degree comprises 204 points (34 six-point units). The
maximum number of points taken at first-year level is 84 (14 units). Six
compulsory core units must be taken from the Bachelor of Business and Commerce,
and 15 compulsory core units from the Bachelor of Network Computing.

Students must choose a major (a sequence of eight units) in one of accounting, international trade, or management.
