The
Master of Education in adult and vocational education and training (AVET) is
designed for teachers, instructors, managers and other professionals working in
adult learning contexts and/or engaged in vocational education. This pathway
offers opportunities for extending professional experience and higher education
qualifications in specific aspects of adult and vocational education and
training, and in relation to cross-sectoral issues in learning, teaching,
management and governance.
The
major objectives of the adult, vocational education and training pathway are to
provide knowledge, understanding and skills relevant to:
- professional practice in relation to adult and work-related teaching and
learning;
- curriculum development and delivery;
- administration and management;
- policy analysis;
- studies of language and literacy;
- research in adult learning contexts.

project, of approximately 20,000 words, must focus on a topic relevant to adult
and vocational education and training. Students intending to enrol in the
project must complete an appropriate research methodology subject.
