The content, structure and presentation of the course are designed to equip
students with the skills to manage a retail business in an increasingly complex
and challenging environment.
For those candidates who are unable to complete the full course, it is possible
to gain recognition for partial completion.
The degree is offered at the Caulfield campus.
The specific objectives of the course are to:
A grade average of C in both English and in mathematics (any), and a grade average of D in any two other VCE studies.
Applicants may also satisfy entrance requirements on the basis of qualifications deemed to be the equivalent of the above VCE: eg TAFE qualifications (the first year of a TAFE associate diploma or a TAFE qualification that satisfies the first year of a TAFE associate diploma) or comparable Year 12 qualifications including International Baccalaureate or approved tertiary level study completed in Victoria, other states of Australia, or overseas.
Students who have not successfully completed VCE or equivalent may satisfy entry requirements by completing at least two Monash non-award single subjects or open learning (OLA) subjects. Applicants who have undertaken studies at tertiary level may apply for credit in equivalent subjects in the course. When applying, prospective candidates must provide full documentary evidence of prior tertiary studies including a copy of academic records and subject synopses from the handbooks of the years in which the subjects were passed to enable credits to be processed by the faculty's credit transfer committee.

The
course is coordinated from the Caulfield campus, Monash University. The course
is delivered in a flexible learning mode, enabling students to enrol in a mix
of on- and off-campus subjects, either full-time or part-time. The course may
be taken entirely off-campus with all course materials and course
administration completed by mail.
Opportunities for communication between students and subject coordinators are
organised on a subject basis and candidates are given advance notice of such
arrangements. Local study groups are encouraged.
For students enrolled in off-campus subjects, materials are mailed each
semester and include introductory information about each subject, all
