Units indexed by faculty Bachelor of Business and Commerce/Bachelor of Sport and Outdoor RecreationCourse code: 3202 + Course abbreviation: BBusCom/BS&OR + Total credit points required: 204 + 4 years full-time with overload, or equivalent part-time study + Managing faculty: Education Study mode and course locationOn-campus (Peninsula) Course descriptionWhen students take the Bachelor of Business and Commerce degree and the Bachelor of Sport and Outdoor Recreation degree in combination, they are able to complete both courses in four years of full-time study with overload of 6 points in year 3 and year 4. The major aim of this double-degree program is to foster the development of a confident and competent professional, combining knowledge and skills from the fields of business, sport and outdoor recreation. Course structureTo receive the awards of the Bachelor of Business and Commerce and the Bachelor of Sport and Outdoor Recreation, a candidate must successfully complete units totalling 204 points, consisting of the following: (a) Studies in business/commerce (108 points) chosen from units offered by the Faculty of Business and Economics (Gippsland), which must include: (i) The following six compulsory common core (36 points):
(ii) Completion of a business major sequence of at least eight units (48 points) including at least two units (12 points) at each of second and third-year levels. (One core unit from part (i) may form part of the 48 points requirement). (iii) A maximum of eight first-year-level units (48 points). (iv) A minimum four third-year-level units (24 points). (b) Studies in education (96 points) chosen from the Faculty of Education, which must follow the course requirements as set out below. * BSOR elective units: EDF1605 (Lifespan physical activity and wellness), EDF2125 (Fitness leadership), EDF3604 (Camp planning and practice), EDF3607 (Social issues in sport and outdoor recreation), EDF3608 (Sport and movement education), EDF3610 (Research/project in sport and outdoor recreation), EDF3611 (Advanced outdoor recreation practice), EDF4161 (Sports injury prevention).
