Course description

This course, a joint venture of Monash's Faculty of Business and Economics and the University of Melbourne, is designed to provide a balance between wine technology and business/management/marketing. Units in this course are generally taught as residential blocks.

Entry requirements

Applicants need to have completed:

  • a pass degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution, or
  • an Executive Certificate in Wine Technology Management and Marketing or equivalent with an average grade of credit or above.

Advanced standing

Candidates may be eligible for advanced standing for a maximum of eight units considered to be equivalent to particular requirements in the course of study. Advanced standing is restricted to study completed in the last five years. The program manager assesses advanced standing.

Course structure

(a) Students must complete 11 core units (66 points):

(b) Students must complete one elective unit:

  • MGX5070 Wine, food and agribusiness, or
    One 5000-level elective offered by the Department of Management

Students should complete four 9000-level graduate units before commencing 5000-level units.
