This
course is designed for graduates who wish to increase their knowledge and
skills associated with understanding and applying management and business
theory and practice in general, and specifically in relation to managing
business organisations locally, regionally, internationally and globally.
Students will develop an advanced and mature level of attributes in the area of
written and oral communication, enquiry, information literacy, self-direction,
teamwork, global outlook, moral and social responsibility and creativity.
Applicants
need to have completed:
- a pass degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary
institution, or
- an executive certificate from this faculty with an average of credit or
above.
Candidates
may be eligible for advanced standing for a maximum of six units considered to
be equivalent to particular requirements in the course of study. Advanced
standing is restricted to study completed in the last five years. The program
coordinator assesses advanced standing.
(a)

- MGX9670 International public policy and management
- MGX9720 Managing in a changing environment
- MGG9352 Management processes and systems
- MGG9325 Human resource development
- MGX5551 Strategic human resource management
- MGX9220 Industrial relations
- MGX9600 Managing people and organisations
- MGX9160 Marketing theory and practice
- AFG9070 Financial management
- BTG9270 Business law
- BTG9241 Employment law
- ECG9170 Issues in labour economics
- ECG9103 Ethics, economy and society
- GCO4801 Business information systems
- or any 5000-level or 9000-level units taught by the Department of
Management, other departments in the Faculty of Business and Economics or other
faculties of Monash University, subject to approval by the program
coordinator.
A minimum of four 5000-level units must be studied.
