Synopsis: The unit provides an overview of international issues impacting on public sector management. The topics covered include the concept and impact of globalisation on international public management; policy analysis and implementation in a changing world; the roles of institutions of international public administration - the United Nations Organisation, World Bank, and IMF, as well as management issues in international public administration - privatisation; development problems and strategies and technology policy and development. Policy formulation and management practices in various Asian countries are also examined.
Assessment: Individual assignment (2500 words): 30% + Individual assignment (3500 words): 40% + Individual assignment (2500 words): 30%
