Synopsis: The composition of the Australian workforce, the interpretation of labour market statistics, problems of unemployment, supply of and demand for labour and the operation of labour markets, including the influence of institutions such as trade unions, and the problem of disadvantage in the labour market. The role of labour market policies and wages policy.
Assessment: Assignment one (1500 words): 20% + Assignment two (2000 words): 30% + Examination: 3 hours (50% )
