This Bachelor of Education (Honours) specialisation qualifies graduates to teach children from Foundation to Year 12 (five to 18 years of age), as a generalist primary school teacher, generalist middle school teacher, specialist health and physical education (HPE) primary school teacher or HPE teacher in secondary school, with health and physical education and health and human development as second subject areas. Students develop skills to become critical and effective educators and leaders across school settings or more broadly in community, recreational and sporting settings.
Units are 6 credit points unless otherwise stated.
Focus on learning theories and practice, adolescent learning, curriculum and assessment, student diversity and inclusion.
Students complete:
Include a focus on the core areas of physical education and health and human development. In addition, students study English and mathematics and other areas across the curriculum including inclusive education, creative arts, science and social education.

Develop professional knowledge of the content areas of human movement and health.

Comprise professional experience and research units. Students engage in research, develop understanding of professional identity and leadership, and gain practical teaching experience by completing 85 days of supervised professional experience in primary and secondary schools.
