The Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Leadership, Policy and Change) is designed to meet the needs and interests of leaders and managers of educational institutions, teachers, academics and personnel working in a variety of human service organisations who exercise formal or informal leadership responsibilities for the delivery of educational and related services.
The major objectives of the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Leadership, Policy and Change) course are students with:
Applicants must have an approved three-year bachelor's degree and an approved fourth year of study or an approved four-year bachelor degree or have qualifications or experience deemed by the faculty board to be the equivalent to the above awards or a pass degree accompanied by relevant experience for admission to the Postgraduate Diploma (Ld,Pol&Ch).
Applicants
contemplating admission to this course may seek formal credit or recognition of
prior learning. Applicants should apply for credit prior to enrolment but
currently enrolled students may also apply. The Faculty of Education considers
each application on its merits within the context of the faculty guidelines on
credit transfer which are contained in a booklet Learning from
experience available from the Professional Development Institute, Faculty
of Education, Monash University, Gippsland campus, Churchill 3842 ($7
postage and packing).
Candidates who successfully complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Education
(Ld,Pol&Ch) will receive forty-eight points credit towards a masters degree.

This course may be taken on campus by full-time or part-time study and it is expected that full-time candidates will complete all requirements within one year while part-time candidates will complete them within two academic years. Each subject is of one-semester length and the expected number of hours per week for a full-time student is forty-eight.
