Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma in Pharmacy Management leading to Master of Business Administration (MBA)


General information

The Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma in Pharmacy Management are offered by flexible learning and are designed to equip course participants with the necessary management skills to meet the challenges facing the pharmaceutical industry and pharmacy profession in areas such as competition, privacy provisions, HR management and GST compliance.

Developed in partnership with the Faculty of Business and Economics, this course provides participants greater flexibility to exit with a graduate certificate, graduate diploma or continue on a pathway to the MBA at Monash University.

Admission

A relevant undergraduate degree, or satisfying the entrance requirements for the Monash MBA, plus two years of relevant post-degree work experience.

Credit exemptions

Applicants who have passed units at a postgraduate level at a recognised tertiary institution, deemed by the course director to be equivalent of Monash units, may be eligible for up to two units credited towards the graduate certificate/graduate diploma. Applicants who intend to seek exemptions in the MBA program are strongly advised to review the MBA credits policy.

Course structure

Participants may choose to receive an academic award at any of the following exit points. These awards are mutually exclusive, and only one award will be granted to each participant.

An accelerated program with summer and winter school is available.
All professional track units are by off-campus learning mode. They can be taken as single non-award units with transferable credit points for future award studies.
A limited number of units can be taken as electives beyond the core and professional track units. This will be considered on an individual basis.
Core MBA units are currently face-to-face, with regular weekly day or evening lectures at Caulfield.

Fees*

Unit fees

Graduate Certificate/Graduate Diploma in Pharmacy Management - $1650 per unit ($2145 for international students).
MBA core units - $2100 per unit ($2475 for international students).

Amenities fees

Graduate Certificate/Graduate Diploma in Pharmacy Management - $63.
MBA - $81.50 per semester.

Other fees

Overseas postage and handling - $275 per annum.

Transfer fee

Participants who transfer from the Graduate Certificate/Diploma in Pharmacy Management to the MBA program with units AFG9071 and MKX9160 may be required to submit an additional assignment/assessment for these units. A transfer fee of around $1000 is payable to the MBA program.
