Graduate Certificate in Wound Care


General information

The Graduate Certificate in Wound Care is delivered via off-campus learning and is designed to provide the knowledge and skills to allow health professionals and veterinarian surgeons to effectively manage acute and chronic wounds.

The course has been developed in collaboration with the Wound Foundation of Australia, the National Ageing Research Institute, the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University.
Successful completion of this course will enable participants to:

Admission requirements

Admission to the course is available to graduates with a tertiary qualification or equivalent in pharmacy, veterinary science, medicine, podiatry, nursing or related disciplines.

Special requirements

Access to an IBM-compatible computer with CD-ROM and internet connection is essential.

Fees*

Course fees

The Graduate Certificate in Wound Care is a full-fee-paying course.
Course fees for students residing in Australia - $5600.
Course fees for students residing overseas - $5875.

Amenities fees

Amenities fees - $63 per annum.

Course structure

This course, administered by the Centre for Continuing Education (Victorian College of Pharmacy), is conducted over 12 months part-time and comprises eight units (five core and three electives).

Core modules
Elective modules

All five core modules are offered at each of the four study periods, which are as follows:
Study period 1 - 1 January to 31 March
Study period 2 - 1 April to 30 June
Study period 3 - 1 July to 30 September
Study period 4 - 1 October to 31 December

Students will be assessed in each unit. Assessment will use a combination of assignments, essays and examinations.
