Master of Applied Economics
Course code: 3163 + Course abbreviation: MApplEc + Course director:
Mr George Rivers + Offered at Caulfield and Clayton campuses + Normally completed
in two semesters of full-time study or four semesters of part- time study
The course has been designed for graduates with an
undergraduate degree in economics, finance, econometrics or their equivalent,
seeking to extend, deepen and upgrade their knowledge in order to apply that to
the workplace. Specialisations are offered in the areas of Asian and
international economics, finance, health economics, and econometrics. Course
intake is available in semester one and semester two. The course comprises
eight units, including three core units in economics which can be completed in
two semesters of full-time study or four semesters of part- time study.
Applicants require either of the following:
- a Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent) majoring in economics,
econometrics or finance
- a pass degree in another discipline plus the Graduate Diploma in Economic
Studies (or equivalent).
This is a fee-paying course.
Candidates should consult the Department of Economics as to the 2003 course
fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to
change.

is a compulsory core unit for those wishing to proceed to the finance units at
the 5000 level.

prior knowledge of econometrics are strongly advised to take this unit)
