ECF4100Applied microeconomics (6 points)(BUS) Leader: Dr He-Ling Shi
Offered: Synopsis: Australia, especially Victoria, has been in the forefront of microeconomic reform. This subject focuses on that experience: structural shifts in demand and production costs; the nature of imperfect markets; how, when and why markets fail; the roles of government in a deregulated environment; the role of competitive strategies and game theory; the experience of special markets, for example energy. Professionals in domestic and international organisations will find this subject an aid to the formulation of strategies. Assessment: Written (4000-word research report): 40% + Tutorial presentation: 10% + Examination (3 hours): 50% Contact Hours: Lectures and seminar: 3 hours per week |
