ECF4200Applied macroeconomics (6 points)(BUS) Leader: Ms Anita Doraisami
Offered: Synopsis: The focus is on practical questions about how to achieve national economic growth and control inflation in the context of a global economy, with special attention to policy formulation and implementation and the dilemmas facing decision-makers in the government and private sectors. Macroeconomic forecasting and the methods for analysing the short-term and long-term trends are also considered. Australia's experience during the last two decades, in particular the impact of the Asian Currency Crisis, are examined closely. Assessment: Written (4000-word research report): 40% + Tutorial presentation: 10% + Examination (3 hours): 50% Contact Hours: Lectures and seminar: 3 hours per week |
