Synopsis
Explores the core principles of public sector management. Students consider the value their organisation creates, the impact of their authorising environment on operations and the capabilities involved in delivering value to stakeholders.
Outcomes
On successful completion of the unit, students will be able to:
- appreciate the kinds of value public sector organisations provide to citizens and clients
- be aware of the various forms of operational capability, and how they can be mobilized
- recognise problems from symptoms, identify opportunities for action and manage risks
