Students commence their studies with foundation units focusing on contemporary issues related to managing human resources, organisational change, and industrial relations. Students then select units to suit their own interests and requirements by choosing from the wide range of elective units offered by the Department of Management. The course involves the study of theoretical and research developments and analysis of contemporary examples of human resource management. Credit for prior studiesCandidates articulating from an executive certificate, graduate certificate or graduate diploma in the Department of Management will be eligible for credit for a maximum of eight units (48 points) for study undertaken in the last five years. Other candidates may be eligible for credit for a maximum of four units (24 points) if previous study is considered to be equivalent to particular units in the course of study. Credit is restricted to study undertaken in the last five years and must be approved by the program manager. Course structure(a) Students must complete eight core units (48 points) as follows: (i) the following seven units (42 points):
(ii) one of the following units (6 points): (b) students must complete four elective units (24 points) from 9000-level or 5000-level graduate units taught by the Department of Management. In place of two electives taught by the Department of Management, students may enrol in units taught outside the department. It is recommended that students consult with the course director to ensure their elective units form a coherent study program. A minimum of four 5000-level units must be studied. Students should complete four 9000-level graduate units before commencing 5000-level units. * Offered on-campus only.
