Levels 3, 4 and 5 of the course will be phased out over the next three years. Course structureThe first year of the program introduced students to the history and theory of flight. In the second year, students will take introductory units in mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and design. Students will also be introduced to specialist aerospace topics in materials and structures. The third and fourth years of the program build on the basic material already introduced. During these two years, topics covered will include avionics, aerodynamics, flight mechanics and propulsion, as well as mechanical engineering design. The final year of the program has a number of project-based units as well as elective units. Course requirementsThis course ceased intake in 2004. Level 3 of the program will be taught for the last time in 2006. The remaining levels will progressively cease thereafter. Third year
