Clayton First semester 2006 (Day)
Clayton Second semester 2006 (Day)
Synopsis: This unit with MAE4902 or MAE4903 provides the student the opportunity to undertake a significant self guided learning task in the form of a project. The project is a year long task made up of either a major design, theoretical, or experimental investigation. The project may be done either internally within the department or externally within a company or research organisation. In either case, an academic member of staff will act as supervisor. While some projects may benefit from group based work as in a team, it is expected that students will work individually on each project. Students are required to submit for assessment a report on their work in the form of a hard bound thesis.
Assessment: Thesis: 90% + Progress report: 10%
Contact Hours: Full semester project based work
