Course description

This course provides major studies in the theory, practice, technology and research techniques of mass communications together with studies in the design and development of multimedia systems.

Course structure

Students must complete 96 credit points in the Bachelor of Communication component and 96 credit points in the Bachelor of Multimedia Systems (Applications) component.

Arts sequences offered at Berwick include behavioural studies, Indonesian, international studies, journalism, psychology and visual culture. Alternatively, students select a sequence of arts units taught at one of the other campuses of the university. Students who opt for this alternative should note that it will involve travelling to another campus to attend lectures, and close attention will need to be paid to the lecture timetable.

Course requirements
Communication component

(a) a major in communications (48 points)
(b) a first-year sequence in visual culture - VSA1000 and VSA1050
(c) a minor in an arts discipline (24 points).

Multimedia systems (applications) component

Note that students have a maximum of 10 years to complete this course.
