Synopsis: Students will work in teams on the development of an application/ exhibition for a client who may be either internal or external to Monash. Project teams will test and evaluate a prototype of a business/multimedia application/exhibition using appropriate software development procedures. Using project planning/management skills along with other development procedures, students must then deliver a functional system, along with all requisite documentation. Students will integrate multimedia, programming, business and technical knowledge in the development process.
Assessment: Team assessment: 60% In order to pass, the team must produce the negotiated product, presentation or system, all identified deliverables, and perform project management activities to ensure all deliverables are completed on time. Individual assessment: 40% Individual assessment will be based on a combination of attendance, personal logs with self-evaluation and peer review. Students are required to maintain a development log with a full record of all their project related activities.
Contact Hours: A mixture of formal lectures, seminars, tutorials, laboratory sessions and project work. Students will be required to participate regularly for extended periods of time in both structured and unstructured work sessions in the studio, and to carry out a variety of activities within these sessions.
