Synopsis: The unit will address Project Management with a specific focus on the management of systems-related projects. Defining and selecting projects, tools used in project management (Pert charts, critical path analysis, computation of the float, contingency factors, Gantt charts, and task monitoring); software selection and management; cost benefit analysis, risk analysis; implementation; change management, business process re-engineering. The relationship between systems analysis and design activities and project management.

Assessment: Two Assessment Assignments: 40%. Examination: 60% (3 hour exam)

Contact Hours: 4 hours (one 2 hour lecture and one 2 hour tutorial/lab)

Prerequisites: MMS1403
