Master of Business Administration


General information

Course code: 0028 + Course abbreviation: MBusAdm + Course director: Professor Rob Willis + Offered on-campus at Caulfield + Normally completed in eight semesters of part-time study

The objectives of this course are to develop knowledge and skills across a range of business disciplines to provide aspiring managers with the abilities to effectively manage or participate in the management of an organisation. In addition to providing a broad business and management foundation, the MBA also provides the ability to build up a specialist base within its elective offerings. Students undertake a masters degree with appropriate core skills and then have a wide choice of units to suit their own personal needs.

Applicants require a degree with a minimum of a credit average (60 per cent) from a recognised tertiary institution, and a minimum of two years relevant full-time post-degree work experience, preferred four years.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the MBA Programs office as to the 2003 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.

Course structure

The course comprises 16 units as follows:

Ten core units (compulsory)
Six elective units
