Master of Marketing (Retail and Wholesale)


General Information

Course code: 2094 + Caulfield campus + Full-fee-paying course: unit fee $1650 (2002 fee): unit fee for international students $1900 + PELS available for Australian students (Refer to www.hecs.gov.au/PELS for more information) + Attendance not required

Aims

This unique course has been especially designed to provide a national masters-level course tailored specifically to the retail and wholesale industry and related service industries.
The course is suitable for experienced retail managers who have an undergraduate degree from a recognised tertiary institution and two years of retail or related service industry experience.

Course structure

The course is a three-year, part-time, fee-paying program suitable for experienced retail managers. Course participants complete:

Each unit is worth six credit points in the Master of Marketing (Retail and Wholesale).
The course progression is designed to develop and build upon studentsí understanding of issues specifically relevant to retail and wholesale marketing and then to consolidate and further develop the concepts and principles learnt throughout the course through the major project in the final semester.
In all units, the course content and assessment will relate to workplace applications in a retail/wholesale business.

Entry requirements

Applicants will have an undergraduate degree from a recognised tertiary institution, generally in a discipline other than marketing/retail, and two years of retail or related service industry experience.

Advanced standing for previous study

Candidates may be eligible for credit for up to 50 per cent of the course where they have completed units (within the previous five years) considered to be equivalent to particular units in the Master of Marketing (Retail and Wholesale). Where candidates have completed units similar in content, but not equivalent, to particular units in the course, the course director may request another suitable unit be substituted.
