The Bachelor of Business and Commerce/Bachelor of Sport and Outdoor Recreation double-degree program offers students an opportunity to complete two separate degrees, a Bachelor of Business and Commerce and a Bachelor of Sport and Outdoor Recreation from Monash University. A feature of this course is its interdisciplinary approach to the teaching of some subjects. The major aim of the double degree is to foster the development of a confident and competent professional, combining knowledge and skills from the fields of business, sport and outdoor recreation. Graduates of the program will have qualifications, which enable them to enter the sport and outdoor industries with a strong business emphasis.

Entrance requirements

Applicants must have satisfactorily completed the VCE or its equivalent, with a study score of at least 25 in English units 3 and 4, plus any two units from General Mathematics and Mathematical Methods at units 1 and 2 level, and a study score of at least 20 in any two other VCE studies.

Course structure

Students will be required to complete a minimum of 204 credit points to be awarded the Bachelor of Business and Commerce and the Bachelor of Sport and Outdoor Recreation, as follows:
(a) Completion of core sport and outdoor sequences of subjects with a total credit value of 96 points:

(b) Completion of the following business subjects with a total credit value of 108 credit points including six core subjects:

(c) A major specialisation of eight subjects from accounting, business law, economics, management and marketing.
(d) A minor of at least four subjects, to be from a different discipline than the major specialisation.

Length of course

This course consists of four years full-time study or equivalent part time study taken on-campus. The expected number of hours per week for a full-time student is 48.

Credit provision

Applicants contemplating admission to this course may seek formal credit or recognition of prior learning. Applicants should apply for credit prior to enrolment to the Faculty of Education.

The course is offered as HECS and fee-liable.
