Objectives Students must complete boths parts one (CHI2470) and two in order to develop the ability to speak Mandarin fluently and accurately; the ability to transcribe Chinese characters in pinyin; the oral/aural ability for formal and informal modes of communication across a range of social and business contexts; the ability to write formal correspondence using appropriate business vocabulary; a knowledge of mainland Chinese business practices.
Synopsis Further development of advanced conversational skills in Mandarin. Fluency and accuracy in Mandarin will be emphasised.
Assessment Examinations (3 hours): 30%
