* Prerequisites: A pass in CHI1470
Objectives Students must complete both parts one (CHI1470) and two in order to develop the ability to speak Mandarin fluently and accurately; the ability to transcribe Chinese characters in pinyin; the oral/aural ability for formal and informal modes of communication across a range of social and business contexts: the ability to write formal correspondence using appropriate business business vocabulary; a knowledge of mainland Chinese business practices.
Synopsis Further development of advanced conversational skills in Mandarin. Fluency and accuracy in Mandarin will be emphasised.
Assessment Weekly oral/aural exercise: 40%

examination: 30%
* Oral examination: 30%
