Units indexed by faculty Master of Publishing and EditingCourse code: 2183 + Course abbreviation: MPub&Edit + Total credit points required: 72 + 1.5 years full-time, 3 years part-time Study mode and course locationOn-campus (Clayton) Course descriptionThis course, comprising units at fourth and fifth levels, is designed to provide editorial and publication management skills to those having aspirations to become involved in scholarly, commercial, educational, academic and corporate publishing, to further their careers and attainments in publishing, or to establish their own small publishing business. The course provides a survey overview of Australian publishing and its international connections, both historical and contemporary, and a variety of vocationally oriented, special knowledge and skill-based units. There is provision in the program for an industry internship. Full-time students undertake 24 points per semester, while part-time students take 12 points per semester. Course structureStudents complete 72 points of units, consisting of 48 points at level 4 and 24 points at level 5. All units are worth 12 points unless otherwise indicated. Level 4 units
Level 5 units* PUB5007 is only available to those students who completed the Monash Graduate Diploma of Arts (Publishing and Editing) before 2002. and two of the following:
Exit pointsAfter successful completion of 24 points, students may apply to exit the program with a Graduate Certificate in Publishing and Editing, or after successful completion of 48 points with a Graduate Diploma in Publishing and Editing.
