Synopsis: Projects in contempory organisations. Project selection. The project manager: characteristics, responsibilities, techniques. The project team and its organisation. Project planning: budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation. Project management information systems: monitoring, control. Project auditing. Project termination. Information systems project management. Project management software aids.
Assessment: Practical work: 20% + Examination (2 hours): 80% + Students must pass the examination in order to pass the unit
Contact Hours: One 2-hour lecture and one 1-hour laboratory per week
Prerequisites: Students enrolled in course codes 0961, 0355, 1545 are expected to have completed SYS1002
