Graduate Certificate in Information Management and Systems
Course code: 2419 + Off-campus (Caulfield) + Australian
residents - 2005 annual fees: TBC + International students - 2005 annual
fees: $10,200, or $2550 per six-point unit + Course director: Ms Kerry

The course aims to prepare students for careers in information
management and information systems. Graduates are expected to play leading
roles in the profession in Australia and in other countries.
The normal entry requirement is a degree that is equivalent to an
Australian bachelors degree. Candidates without formal tertiary qualifications
should normally enter via the faculty's Professional Certificate in Information
Technology, except in exceptional circumstances as approved by the head of
school.
The course duration is one semester full-time or two semesters
part-time.
To qualify with the graduate certificate, students complete 24
points of graduate units. The units are to be selected from the graduate units
of the School of Information Management and Systems (SIMS).
Certain units require background knowledge specific to particular
specialisations, and admission to these units will need the approval of the
unit coordinator. Students without appropriate background knowledge will be
required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate foundation units, eg
IMS9001, IMS9003, IMS9043, IMS9049, or IMS9300, before proceeding to other
graduate units (these units all have codes with the pattern IMS5xxx).
