Synopsis: This unit enables interested students to read widely and/or in-depth in a relevant topic of interest under supervision, in an area of information management and systems not offered in any other fifth-year level subject or to build more in-depth knowledge in an area with which they already have some familiarity but desire more knowledge and expertise. Students enrolling in this Reading unit must have the approval of the Head of School or their nominee. Details for the reading unit will be defined and approved individually for each student and will include objectives, assessment and an initial reading list.
Assessment: Research paper or review (6000-10,000 words) and project or equivalent: 100%
Prerequisites: Entry to this unit requires approval by the Head of School, or nominee plus 24 credit points of IMS 9000-level units, or equivalent; or 24 credit points of graduate level units in the Master of Information Managment and Systems, Master of Information Management and Systems (Professional), Master of Information Technology or the Master of Business Systems, or equivalent; or an approved undergraduate degree in information systems (IS) or information management (IM) or equivalent.
