This twelve-unit course has been designed for persons who are working, or
intending to work, in any area of industrial relations, management, HRM or
trade union activities. The course focuses upon the workplace aspects of
industrial and employee relations, and links industrial relations and employee
management practices with the broader issues of economic and labour market
policy. The institutional and legal framework for industrial and employee
relations is also covered in detail.
Applicants require a pass degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised
tertiary institution, or an executive certificate from this faculty with an
average of credit or above. Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of eight
credit exemptions for units considered to be equivalent to particular units in
the course of study. Credit is restricted to study completed in the last five
years. Refer to the course director for further details.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of
Management as to the 2002 course fee.
A
total of 12 coursework units must be completed , of which six must be level
5000 units. The selection and number of units will vary according to previous
qualifications of candidates and must be determined in conjunction with the
course coordinator.
