Master of Business Management*

Aims

The Master of Business Management is designed for candidates who wish to gain knowledge in general business management principles and their application locally and globally.

Entry requirements

Applicants require a pass degree from Monash or a recognised tertiary institution, or an executive certificate offered by the Faculty of Business and Economics with an average of credit or above.

Intake

Applicants should note that there are two intakes per year to this course, one to commence in first semester and the second to commence in second semester.

Special requirements

PC requirement

Access to an IBM-compatible computer is essential for the use of word processing and other software packages.

Course structure

The course consists of six core units, including at least two core units at the 5000 level and six elective units, with a requirement that at least six level-5000 units be completed for the masters degree.

Assessment

Assessment is by a combination of assignments and/or final examination for each unit. Generally, a pass is required in the final examination to pass the unit.
Students who leave the course after successfully completing the first four units are eligible to receive a graduate certificate and after completing eight specified units are eligible to receive the graduate diploma.

Advanced standing for previous studies

Applicants who have completed graduate-level units at a another recognised tertiary institution within the last five years which are similar in content to a unit forming part of the course of study may apply for a credit exemption to a maximum of 50 per cent of the course.
