MGX5461Contemporary issues in globalisation(BUS)
Caulfield: Professor Chris Nyland; Gippsland: Associate Professor Al Rainnie 6 points + Summer semester + Caulfield + One three-hour class per week + OCDL, approximatley 12 hours per week, Second semester + Prerequisites: MGX5171 or MGX9110 or 24 points at 9000 or 5000 level Synopsis: Students examine globalisation and assess its implications for the governance of the business enterprise, nation states, and relations between business and government. The subject also examines the difficulties that globalisation creates for nations and multinational enterprises in both the emerging and developed world, the open markets, and the policy responses proposed to balance economic, social and political costs. Assessment: Essay (4000 words): 50% + Presentation paper (2000 words): 20% + Examination (2 hours): 30% |
