Course
code: To be advised Course abbreviation: BBus(Law) Course coordinator: Mr
Wayne Gumley
This course is designed to provide a degree structure with a major sequence of
subjects in the areas of business law and/or taxation offered by the Department
of Business Law and Taxation at Caulfield.
This degree recognises the fundamental importance of business law and taxation
subjects in today's commercial world, and seeks to provide graduates with
extended skills in these areas. This course will prepare students for the
increasingly complex legal and taxation issues which they will face when
employed in many areas of business or in government agencies.
The range of subjects undertaken in the BBus(Law) will provide a very strong
grounding for ensuring proper legal compliance in areas such as accounting,
banking, the finance sector, management, marketing, the securities industry,
trade and the services sector.
The wide range of taxation subjects available in the BBus(Law) will assist
those seeking employment in the accounting and legal professions where taxation
consulting is an expanding field of practice.
Please note that the BBus(Law) is not an LLB and will not provide the basis for
completing the requirements to practise as a barrister or solicitor.
Credit transfers for the BBus(Law) have been standardised in accordance with part one, section five of the degree regulations. In addition, credit transfers will normally be given to students who have passed subjects in the degree of the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at an approved university.
