AFF1110Accounting for financial decision making(BUS)
Dr Geoff Tickell 6 points + 3 hours per week + First, second semester + Caulfield Synopsis: This subject aims to provide students with a basic knowledge of accounting and an understanding of the role of accounting information in financial decision making. The subject covers: the accounting cycle; accounting for service firms, merchandisers and manufacturers; computerisation; accounting for assets and liabilities; financial statement analysis; product costing; cost-volume-profit analysis and budgeting. On the completion of this subject, students should be able to understand the information requirements for financial decision making by internal and external interest groups. Assessment: Tutorial participation: 15% + Semester-based assignment: 15% + Examination (3 hours): 70% |
