Master of Applied Economics*

campuses * Normally completed in two semesters of full-time study or four
semesters of part-time study
The course has been designed for graduates seeking to extend, deepen and
upgrade their knowledge of economics, finance and econometrics in order to
apply that to the workplace. Specialisations are offered in the areas of Asian
and international economics, finance, health economics, and econometrics.
Course intake is available in semester one and semester two.
Applicants require either of the following:
- a Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent) majoring in economics,
econometrics or finance
- a pass degree in another discipline plus the Graduate Diploma in
Economic Studies (or equivalent).
This is a fee-paying course.
Candidates should consult the Department of Economics as to the 2001 course
fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to
change.

- ECC4000 Reading subject (on Asia/international)
- ECC3694 International economics
- ECC3574 The international economy since 1945
- AFC3144 Advanced business finance**
- AFC3174 Management of financial intermediaries
- AFC3234 Financial analysis and evaluation
- AFC4140 Corporate financial theory
- AFC3344 Options, financial futures and other derivatives
