Nursing practice 5: Acute family centred nursing

Synopsis: The family context of nursing practice. The health of individuals in the context of family life, using a lifespan developmental framework. Theory and practice of maternity nursing, paediatric nursing, sexual and reproductive health nursing. Nursing practice skills in health teaching, and health promotion for self care and caregiving roles.

Assessment: Written assignment: 40% + Examination: 60% Clinical skills assessment: Pass/fail, 100% attendance mandatory.
