Students complete 48 points at fourth-year level including: a dissertation, thesis or creative project, a core coursework unit and one elective coursework unit. Students are also required to attend a short methodology course.

Dissertation, thesis and creative project

Students complete one of the following options:

• ATS4744 Drama and theatre studies research dissertation
• ATS4745 Drama and theatre studies research dissertation part 1 and ATS4746 Drama and theatre studies research dissertation part 2
• ATS4747 Drama and theatre studies thesis /Investigative project
• ATS4748 Drama and theatre studies thesis /Investigative project part 1 and ATS4749 Drama and theatre studies thesis /Investigative project part 2
• ATS4750 Drama and theatre studies creative project
• ATS4751 Drama and theatre studies creative project part 1 and ATS4752 Drama and theatre studies creative project part 2

Coursework units

Students complete the following units.

Core unit

• ATS4421 Dramatic theory, criticism and research methods

Elective units

One of:

• APG4423 Performance investigation
• ATS4269 Rethinking theatre history
• a maximum of 12 points at fourth-year level from another discipline and/or institution with the permission of the drama and theatre studies honours coordinator.
