Synopsis
This subject is designed to give a broad overview of Malaysian history, socio-economy, politics and culture for undergraduate students in all faculties. It is informed by the approaches of various disciplines in order to be intellectually stimulating, but avoids being too specialised for students from a particular academic background. It both analyses the peculiarities of Malaysia's multi-cultural society and emphasises factors promoting national integration. It notes key areas of development and challenge in the economy, the education system, in health and technology and in Malaysia's role in the global community.
