When students take the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education double degree, they are able to complete both courses in four years of full-time study at a normal course load for each year. Course objectivesThis double-degree course provides students with an arts major and minor field of study as well as a sequence of studies in education leading to registration in Victoria as a primary school teacher. Course structureTo receive the awards of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education, a student must successfully complete units totalling 192 points, consisting of: a.) FieldworkStudents must complete teaching practice which consists of a minimum of 80 days of satisfactory supervised school experience. Students who are employed in schools must complete a minimum of 40 days of supervised fieldwork in a setting other than the school in which they are employed. Students must be available to undertake fieldwork placements full time. Professional recognitionOn completion of the Bachelor or Arts/Bachelor of Education program of studies, graduates will be eligible for registration and employment as primary school teachers in Victoria.
