Synopsis: The interaction of external environment, organisational factors and strategic human resource management (SHRM) is examined from multiple perspectives. Topics may include strategic choices facing the organisation in the areas of business planning, building SHRM capabilities, transforming the HR function, and SHRM program evaluation. The implications of SHRM for organisational performance are examined.
Assessment: On campus: Group presentation + Assignment (2000 words): 20% + Individual assignment (3500 words): 40% + Examination (2 hours): 40% OCL: Assignment (2000 words): 20% + Individual assignment (3500 words): 40% + Examination ( 2 hours): 40%
Contact Hours: 3-hour class per week, block mode
Prerequisites: Students must have passed MGX9850 or equivalent and must have completed 24 points at 9000-level.
