Executive Certificate of Business (Management)

Course description

This course provides an introduction to the functions of business management. Case studies and business applications give students insights into the interdependent and dynamic nature of managerial work.

Course structure

(a) Students must complete two core units (12 points):

  • MGG9370 Management theory and practice (compulsory)

and one unit selected from the following:

(b) Graduate units taught by the Department of Management, other departments in the Faculty of Business and Economics, or other faculties of Monash University, with approval from the program coordinator. Students must complete two elective units (12 points) from any complementary graduate-level unit that satisfies the objectives and standards of this award and are selected, subject to availability, with the advice of the program coordinator. Students should be aware of the compulsory unit requirements of the Graduate Diploma of Business (Management) and the Master of Business Management should future articulation into either course be a consideration.

Students who successfully complete the Executive Certificate of Business (Management) may apply for admission to the Graduate Diploma of Business (Management) and Master of Business Management.
