Foundations of community based emergency health care systems (3 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: By the completion of this unit, the student will be able to: 1. Outline the history and development of emergency health systems locally, nationally, and internationally 2. Identify the goals and attributes of an effective community-based emergency health system 3. Use a contemporary framework of emergency health systems to identify the scope and factors influencing community-based emergency health systems, and use this model to identify the impact of change in these factors on the community-based emergency health systems 4. Identify factors which would improve integration, co-ordination, teamwork, continuity of care in the role of consumers in improving community-based emergency health systems 5. Understand the role of the various components of the emergency health system through visits to selected agencies

Assessment: Group assignment: 40% + Individual assignment (2000 words): 60%
