Foundations of professionalism in paramedic practice (3 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: By the completion of this unit, the student will be able to: 1. Accurately describe contemporary models of professionalism and their application to the role of the paramedic; 2. Explain the essentials of ethical standards in clinical practice, and, relate these standards to the role of the paramedic; 3. Recognise and explain the legal implications and responsibilities of the paramedic; and 4. Define culture and cultural diversity, and, using a model of cultural competence, explain cultural implications within paramedic practice.

Assessment: 4 x worksheets: 60% + Written assignment (1500 words): 40%
