This course offered by the Centre for Medical and Health Sciences Education enables teachers from the health professions to develop their teaching and supervision skills, course development techniques ,and expand their working knowledge of educational theory to underpin future practice. Participants will be expected to explore and evaluate the impact of new educational methods (including assessment and evaluation methods) and legislation on the provision of high-quality education in the health environment. They will be introduced to the design and implementation of effective educational research. The course is aimed at those who teach in any of the health professions, (eg. Medicine, Nursing, Radiology, dietetics, occupational therapy, paramedical services etc).
Assessment of all units includes written assignments, teaching practicals and preparation of a structured teaching portfolio.
